Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 music playlist

If you want to force NFS 6 to use vocal tracks instead of instrumental versions during a race, or you just don't like some of the tracks, you're in the right place.

Vocal tracks during races

• Open the audio\music subfolder in the game directory. Mine is E:\Games\NFS 6\audio\music.
• Make a back up copy of everything in audio\music.
• Open music.ini.
• Delete the entry for track XXXX and everything after it.
• Change numtunes=XXXX to numtunes=XXXX.
• Change numinsttunes=XXXX to numinsttunes=XXXX.
• Change numvocaltunes=XXXX to numvocaltunes=XXXX.
• Change firstinst=XXXX to firstinst=XXXX.
• Delete TrackXXXX.asf to TrackXXXX.asf.
  For those of you who can't speak the Queen's english, that's "Delete TrackXXXX.asf through TrackXXXX.asf."

Note: Not all tracks have vocal equivalents. Those which haven't are regarded as vocal tracks by NFS 6, and I've left them in. If you want to remove them, keep reading.

Disabling unwanted tracks

• Get the names of the tracks you don't like. The names are displayed in the bottom left corner of the screen when the each track starts. Write them down.
• Open the audio\music subfolder in the game directory. Mine is E:\Games\NFS 6\audio\music.
• Make a back up copy of everything in audio\music.
• Open music.ini.
• Find the entries for the tracks you don't like and delete them.
• Delete the tracks you want to get rid of - for example audio\Track3.asf.
• Renumber the remaining tracks in music.ini so they run 1,2,3,4 and so on.
• Renumber the remaining .asf files so they run 0,1,2,3,4 and so on.
• Change the value for numtumes (at the top of music.ini) to the number of remaining tracks.
• Change the value for numinsttunes to the number of instrumental tracks.
• Change the value for numvocaltunes to the number of vocal tracks.
• Change the value for firstinst to the number of the first instrumental track.

It may be possible to make the game play custom .asf files, but I haven't tried. If you have, contact me and I'll add your information and give you the credit.
